  12. Stan Dunten at Dartmouth College came up with the idea for the "oscilloscope" display.  He has long wanted a program which will indicate whether an AppleTalk node is responding reliably or not.

  14. Thanks, too, go to Paul Hartenstine and Ted Painter who implemented a preliminary version of this program as part of a CS project.  Their prototype wasn't fast enough for production use, but it showed that the idea had heart.  It really wow'ed the network technicians.
